Interproximal spaces are, as the name implies, the spaces between |teeth| in the dental arcade. In many adults, the permanent |teeth| develop in contact with their neighboring |teeth|, such that the interproximal spaces disappear. This condition is particularly common in cases where the |mandible| or |maxilla| are relatively small, and newly developing third |molars |(wisdom |teeth|) cause |teeth| in the arcade to grow closer together to admit them.
